I am Mili. I help people identify their values to lead a life with meaning and purpose.
Mili is a Counselling Psychologist from Trivandrum who has been providing counseling and psychotherapy since 2011. She provides online therapy services and in-person therapy sessions. She has been helping people to deal with emotional distress and teaching them important psychological skills for a meaningful life. She is a trained ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) practitioner. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) teaches mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with personal values while developing psychological flexibility.
Mili provides counseling for new moms and expectant moms for prenatal and postpartum issues. As a postpartum therapist, she understood the importance of having a support group for new mothers to deal with postpartum challenges. This made her start a peer Counselling group of moms called Janani on Facebook to help other moms from Kerala who deal with postpartum challenges by providing a free platform to reach out for help.
Mili provides couple counseling as well as premarital counseling focusing on interpersonal communication and effective resolution of marital conflicts. She has completed Level 2 Clinical foundations in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. The Gottman Method is designed to support couples across all economic, racial, sexual orientation, and cultural sectors. Some of the relationship issues that may be addressed in therapy include:
- Frequent conflict and arguments
- Poor communication
- Emotionally distanced couples on the verge of separation
- Specific problems such as sexual difficulties, infidelity, money, and parenting
Even couples with “normal” levels of conflict may benefit from the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
She also deals with body image issues and has been helping people to deal with restrained eating, emotional eating, and embracing their bodies by promoting body positivity. She has been passionate about learning the influence of early eating habits and the formation of patterns in developing eating disorders and affecting one’s emotional well-being.
She adopts a trauma-informed and queer affirmative in her practice.
Mili is also a Certified Sports Psychology Consultant from Kerala. She has catered to the psychological training needs and cognitive skills development of sportspersons since 2016. The application of the ACT concepts in the field of sport, rather than focusing only on the conventional approach to training athletes, has resulted in a significant improvement in their game. She also provides psychological support for athletes struggling with injuries and works with sports medicine specialists in providing integrated support for injury recovery.
